Among the world’s 10 billion connected devices, over 1.5 billion people are logging in monthly to a variety of social networks in order to connect with their friends, relatives, and increasingly, their favorite brands. A whopping 72% of Internet users are connected to social media. This is a user base that is hard to ignore, but before you go pushing content out into the world, remember that successful social media marketing isn’t all about building the number of likes on a page; it’s about follow through.

While engaging content and a great product or service might earn you a lot of followers, it’s the ones that are most likely to actually reach the point of sale to whom you should be catering. Paid social amplification is the knowledge and the practice of gearing your online campaigns towards the right crowd through a combination of paid ads as well as demographic targeting. Every different social platform has its own unique crowd, and content has to be tweaked just right to maximize sharing and advocacy within each.
